Control and Actuation Systems

Saab designs and and manufactures control and actuation systems based on 75 years of experience as an OEM of civil and military aircraft.

Our products perform control, monitoring and actuation in applications ranging from safety critical flight control to a wide range of utility functions. We are part of the More Electric Aircraft, MEA, development and bring substantial savings to the aircraft manufacturer. For actuation, highly efficient electromechanical actuators are used (EMA).

SYSTEM KEY EQUIPMENT
- Safety critical control products fully developed in-house according to RTCA-DO178B (SW) and RTCA-DO254 (HW) up to level A.
- Patented electrical motor technology with high-power-to-weight-and-volume ratio, internal redundancy and integrated real time monitoring.
- Cockpit control and reliable high precision sensors.
